In den kommenden Jahren werden immer mehr Fahrgäste im S-Bahnverkehr unterwegs sein. Um dafür den nötigen Raum zu schaffen und zugleich ein Maximum an Komfort und Attraktivität zu bieten, haben wir den UniversalTrain entwickelt. Je nach Tageszeit und Fahrgastaufkommen schaffen wir hier ein weltweit einzigartiges flexibles Raumkonzept. Durch die Automatisierung von Sitzen wird es möglich, auf Knopfdruck eine Sitzlandschaft in ein Layout mit bequemen Stehstützen zu verwandeln. Auf diese Weise können wir jederzeit genügend Platz für Pendler in der Hauptverkehrszeit und bei der Anreise zu Großveranstaltungen bieten. Mit dem UniversalTrain schaffen wir es, bis zu 40 % mehr Kapazitäten zu realisieren und zugleich in Nebenverkehrszeiten ein Höchstmaß an Sitzplätzen und Komfort zu bieten. In der Nebenverkehrszeit stehen dafür ausreichend Sitzplätze zur Verfügung. Für eine neue Form der Fahrgastinformation und des Entertainments sorgen großflächige Monitorbänder sowie ein ganzflächiges Seitenscheibendisplay mit Augmented-Reality-Technologie. Bei Großevents können die Displays zur Einstimmung der Fahrgäste und zum Schaffen einer Event-Atmosphäre genutzt werden. So wird bereits die Fahrt zum Stadion ein eindrucksvolles Erlebnis.

It represents a flexible spatial concept that is unparalleled in the rail sector, as it adapts over the course of the day, as passenger numbers fluctuate and their needs change too. Seats can be repositioned at the touch of a button to create a space laid out for people standing and that features convenient rests for them. This enables us to create sufficient capacity for commuters during rush hour or for people going to a major event. Thanks to the universal train, we can increase this capacity by up to 40% while at the same time guaranteeing outstanding comfort and an ample number of seats at peak times. During off-peak times, we can transform the interior so even more seats are available. The innovations don’t stop there. Stretch monitors and a full-pane window display with augmented reality technology transform the passenger information and in-journey entertainment system. The displays are ideal for getting people in the mood before a big event, creating the right atmosphere even before they arrive. This way, even the journey to the stadium becomes part of the occasion.
